The Canadian Population Society seeks to promote the study and development of the science of demography in both its empirical and theoretical aspects. The association actively welcomes new members, including academics, graduate students, government scientists and administrators, or any other persons interested in demography and its many applications. On an annual basis, this society meets to foster interest in, and the interchange of ideas on population, among professional and other interested persons working in the field of population studies.
