Attention: The environment needs your help! As Canada’s leading association of interdisciplinary researchers and practitioners involved in a diversity of environmental fields, the Environmental Studies Association of Canada (www.esac.ca) is thrilled to invite you to participate in our Annual Conference from May 30 to June 1 at Ryerson University (http://www.ryerson.ca) in Toronto as part of the 2017 Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences (http://congress2017.ca). ESAC’s conference is an excellent opportunity to participate in a lively exchange of ideas relating to the environment among academics, students, researchers, members of NGOs, policy-makers and activists? Confirmed keynote speakers include Michael Shellenberger (President of Environmental Progress, Senior Fellow and former President of the Breakthrough Institute) and Deborah McGregor (Canada Research Char in Indigenous Environmental Justice, York University's Faculty of Environmental Studies), while Sarah Common of HivesForHumanity.com will be speaking at ESAC’s Annual ECO-Award Winner Lecture. In addition to individual paper presentations, pre-organized panel sessions, conference poster (and discussion) sessions, and 10-minute graduate student thesis presentations, the conference will also host an exciting Special Roundtable on the Future Relationship Between Growth and Environment. Come join us to exchange ideas about a broad range of issues ranging from environmental education to climate change to environmental justice. We look forward to seeing you in Toronto!
