CSHPS/SCHPS is a Canadian forum bringing together historians, philosophers, sociologists, and a wide range of interdisciplinary scholars interested in exploring all aspects of science, past and present. We publish a newsletter, Communique, three times a year, and our annual conference is held within the Congress of Social Sciences and Humanities. In the year of Canada's sesquicentennial, we particularly encourage scholars to engage with the theme for Congress 2017 - "The Next 150, On Indigenous Lands." With this theme, we encourage papers on "Canadian science past, present, and future", gender, race or indigenous peoples and science, immigration and science, and science in the hinterlands. Unrelated topics and themes are also welcome. The CSHPS is a bilingual society. Individual papers may be given in English or French, but efforts to broaden participation are appreciated (e.g. a presentation in English could be accompanied by a PowerPoint in French, and vice versa). Similarly, sessions can be presented in either English or French, but bilingual sessions are especially welcomed.
